There is not a day that goes by that I do not remember the most important things I learned in the Marines, Honor, integrity, fortitude. Always protecting the ones that need it, doing the right thing at all times and never pick on the weak. Something I wished the civilian world would learn.
Once a Marine, Always a Marine.

My favorite quote is from General Mattis after the invasion of Iraq.
Talking to tribal leaders he said ” I come in peace. I brought no artillery. I’m pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: but if you fuck with me I will kill you all.” That shows the true spirit of a Marine. Fight with you head first before you fight with your weapons. Semper Fidelis. No better friend, no worse enemy.
Ya know I have been in Iraq and I have been in Afghanistan. I have received medals and served with the finest the military has to offer. At home i see all these people talk about how we shouldnt be over there in the war and were losing too many men. Let me tell you something if I was not hurt I would still be over there fighting right next to my brothers because out there, there is no right and wrong there is only do and dont. I respect and love full heartedly every marine that has ever had the priveldge of serving. SEMPER FI

I am currently sixteen years old. I have been literally counting the days til I can become a United States Marine since I was eleven years old. It will be the happiest day of my life.
There can be no America without the U.S. Marine Corps.
Still get those goose bumps after 18 years in civilian life as we did marching across that parade deck. It’s the greatest honor and feeling of being part of the baddest hard core group of finely tuned human beings in the world a UNITED STATES MARINE. To all my brother’s and sister’s out there defending our heritage GODSPEED
Ready to fight, ready to kill, ready to die but never will! Semper Fi!
The only down side to being a Marine is no matter how you explain ( even brakeing it down barney status) what it is we do or did the only other people that will ever understand is those that were there. No matter how much you hear your family say they understand they never will. And speaking from my own time in Iraq never let anyone try to make you feel guilty for comeing home alive. Its those of us that made it home alive that are the ones to keep the memory of the Marines we lost over there.
So to all of the Marines before me thank you. For all the feuture Marines welcome to the family.
All gave some some gave all to those los past and preasent you will never be forgotten.
Semper Fi

I’ve only just graduated. Boot camp and learned the history and the magnitude of the
Importance of the comradery I have out myself into. Even just after boot camp at Paris island I found friends that only hope to know for life. There hasn’t been any time so far that I’ve regretted a bit of it and I look forward to everyday I get to be with the corps. Thank you all for your service and let’s get some!!
wow== !!!!!! I joined the Corps in’65 — left in ’68 — took off the uniform and kept on marching —wow— wowow0wowowowowoow !!!!! I miss it – BUT == I am intelligent and mature enough to know I could not do it again – one time is enuf – one time- you only have enuf strength and life in you to do it right the first time and the ONLY time –sure! I want to do it again BUT I can’t – it was too hard and too great to do it once —-I never got over it- never recovered—- I am still marching in my mind – or wishing i could- I never recovered – the feelings after a twenty mile force march or 4 mile run on the Parade deck – were fabulous- I tried sooo hard to duplicate that in civilian life but could not !!!!! ouch !!! I tried so hard but was unsuccessful in duplicating the feelings I had in the corps on Parris Island – when I left the island for lejeune I remember saying to myself–” I am going to miss this place ” I am going to miss it- and I have – all of my remaining life will be spent on the bench !!!!!!!! ouch !!!! semper Fi- John Rhodes
This is one of the reasons I’m going to join the Marine Corps. Only 6 more years tell I’m 18 then I’m joining and I’m gonna work my ass off
WAR, POLITICS & RELIGION
I didn’t ask your opinion before I joined.

I’m 16yrs old, I’ve been waiting to join the Marines since i was 13. They ask me why be a Marine? I tell them I want a challenge, and I want to become an Elite few that call themselves Marines. I got 1 more year until I’m officially accepted into the brother hood.
SEMPER FI-ALWAYS FAITHFUL
Thank you United States Marines for fighting, Cant wait to be fighting by your side.
There is no such thing as a dead hero
I served for 9 years and got out, ive been out for 5 years… Im ready to get back in the fight. Time to see the recruiters. Im sooo tired of hearing “bring our troops home” Youo know what i say.. If you don’t want to stand behind your marines, feel free to stand in front of them.” I know when i joined i didn’t sign the damn contract to sit at home playing in the dessert. Kill em all let god sort them out!!!!
I have one thing to say. The title of U.S. Marine is Earned not givin. Semper Fi
if everyone could get in they would call us the army
You can sleep safely in your bed tonight. I don’t need a bed just God and my brother Marines. So enjoy your freedoms because they were paid and protected by the sacrifice of a Marine. A Marine who sacrificed all his tomorrows for your today. So sleep soundly tonight knowing that the gates of heaven is protected by United States Marines.
The Marines take your god givin rights and give them back to you as privelages.
After reading all quotes, comments, and gratitude, it stregthens my pride. I have been to Iraq. I have missed birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and the birth of my daughter this last January. Currently I am serving in Kuwait for a year, then a year in Afghanistan, then three in Germany. There will be more Birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations i will miss. But you know what. I wouldn’t change anything for the world. That is what it is all about.
God, Country, Corps… let the rest fall in to the rear.
A Marine doesn’t think about the mistakes that he maid. The people that he will miss. The medals he will receive, or the congradulations he will get. Marines don’t like to boast about their adventures, terrors, nightmares.
Marines only think about the man to the right and left of him on the line. A Marine doesn’t think about how he is going to make it home, but how he will get those brothers of his home alive. Unselfishness, the best part of the buckle. God Bless the Marine Corps
For where else in the world would you get the chance to do the shit we do..
OORAH!
Eleanor Roosevelt was correct, “Marines have the cleaniest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen”.
