It's true, 25 years on I still live by what I was taught in the marines. Not a day goes by without my applying some principle I learned.

Even the way I walk is based upon what I was taught in boot camp. The things l learned in the corps have made me a better man. I never quit, no matter how bad the situation.

Serving in the fleet was incredible. I learned that if you attack your objective head on 99.9% of the time you will take your objective, and I've applied that to life to great effect. Truly once a Marine always a Marine.

Thank God for Chesty Puller and the few Marines... Semper Fi!

Desert Shield/Storm Woman Marine and Proud! I spent 13 yrs. of my life in the Corps. I wanted to make a career out of it, but I blew out both knees and fractured my ankle on a formation run. I was an honor grad in NCO school and had just completed SNCO Academy when my knee gave out a 3rd time and I was asked to finish up my contract and leave. I was 2 months shy of picking up gunny. It was the saddest day of my life. But, the discipline and honor, courage and committment that I learned from being a Marine has helped me to become successful in school. I have an MA in Anthropology and I'm currently pursuing a post Bac. in Wildlife Biology (courtesy of the VA). Semper Fi! I agree with everything you said. Keep up the good work.

My grandpa's uncle was and still is a marine. He is the only Marine in my entire family and I am going to be the second Marine. I don't know too much about my grandpa's uncle because he died before I could meet him, but if I had I would have constantly thanked him for everything he did for the greatest country on earth, The United States of America. Thank you all.
